In Memoriam: Executive Director Robert M. Ross (November 30. 1943 -July 6, 2019)

The International Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Executive Director Robert (Bob) Ross.

In a career that spanned over 45 years, Bob became widely known and respected as a passionate advocate for the promotion and advancement of medical education, especially among the oncology community. As a founding member of ISGIO, he devoted the last 17 years of his lifeâs work to building and growing the Society in its mission.

Bob's commitment and dedication to supporting the field of GI Oncology will live on through ISGIO and its continued work. His presenceâhis friendship, support, and guidanceâso dearly appreciated, will be sadly missed by all.

Donations in honor of Bobâs memory and his invaluable contributions to ISGIO have been donated to Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer (DDF), an organization dedicated to raising awareness about stomach cancer, advancing funding for research, and providing education and support internationally to patients, families, and caregivers.
